Why so cheap after the scare. The roughly ninefold fee increase announced on 29 April 2026 was reversed within a day; this structure stays in force until 1 January 2027. Dollar amounts are collected in lira at the day's rate (47.9662 here, from the TCMB bulletin of 2026-08-21). Application service costs, insurance and translations come on top of these official fees.

Methodology and sources

The permit fee is the first-month amount plus the per-month amount for each further month, fractions counting as full months, charged in lira at the day's rate. Nationalities outside the dollar groups pay the lira tariff directly. Everyone pays the ₺964 card fee.
